Twilight Sparkle—Alicorn Princess

Now that we've tackled one of the most powerful magical beings in pop-culture, it only seems natural to tackle another of the most powerful creatures, and simultaneously round out our series on the Mane 6. This uses Edges and  information from my My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic conversion.

Name: Twilight Sparkle
Race: Alicorn
Cutie Mark: Weird Sparkly Thing
Experience: 130 (Legendary)
Agility d6; Smarts d10; Spirit d8; Strength d4; Vigor d8
Pace 6; Parry 4; Charisma 0; Toughness 5
Flight Pace 6; Climb 0
Hindrances: No Hands, Size –1, Doubting Thomas, Cautious, Curious
Edges: Arcane Background (Natural Magic), Cutie Mark, Scholar (Arcana & History), Command, Magic Surge, Level Headed, Signature Spell (Jaunt), Inspire, Magical Affinity (Transmutation), Common Bond, Ascension
Skills: Fighting d4, Investigation d10, Knowledge (Arcana) d8, Knowledge (History) d8, Notice d8, Persuasion d4, Spellcraft d12+1, Stealth d4
Cantrips: Magic Trick, Levitate, Glow/Dark, Step Sideways, Alter Appearance, Project Image
Spells: Telekinesis, Teleport, Slumber, Animate Object, Armor, Dispel, Bolt, Confusion

Twilight Sparkle was once a gifted unicorn: her unparalleled magical capabilities prompted Princess Celestia to make Twilight her own personal protege. For years, Twilight was a faithful student of magic and history. She is highly experienced in Transmutation magic and makes extensive use of her teleportation spell.

Some time in the last few years, Celestia sent Twilight down to Ponyville to learn more about ponies outside of Canterlot (and, she hoped, to learn more about the value of Friendship as well). There, she met her best friends and stopped the return of the deranged Princess Luna, then known as Nightmare Moon (because horse puns). The lessons she learned through her friends about standing together have helped her topple some of the biggest threats Equestria has faced in thousands of years.

While a natural leader, Twilight's intelligence leads to plague her with curiosity and won't believe anything out of the ordinary without seeing it with her own two eyes. Her available spells and cantrips are somewhat self-explanatory, but if you want more information about them, they are available in the above conversion.

Lastly, she has a very unique Edge called Ascension. This is a Legendary Edge that makes the pony that takes it an alicorn, gaining the abilities all three pony races: Earth, Pegasi, and Unicorns. Twilight ascended at the end of season 3, but we haven't seen much of this since then... maybe Big Mac is next.

So there we go: the entire main cast of Friendship is Magic. Now you people that don't care about ponies won't see them around anymore. Leave questions, comments, and pony hate in the comments below.

Pinkie Pie—Party Pony

We're approaching the end of the slow statting of the main characters of bronydom. This is a character who's fourth-wall sense can give Deadpool a run for his money. This uses Edges and information from my My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic conversion.

Name: Pinkamina Diane Pie
Race: Earth Pony
Cutie Mark: Three Balloons
Experience: 70 (Heroic)
Agility d10; Smarts d8; Spirit d8; Strength d6; Vigor d6
Pace 6; Parry 5; Charisma 0; Toughness 4
Hindrances: No Hands, Size –1, Big Mouth, Clueless, Mania (m), Quirk (prankster), Weird Magnet (m)
Edges: Cutie Mark, Alertness, Intuition, Luck, Danger Sense, Patterns in Chaos, Scavenger, Common Bond
Skills: Climbing d8, Fighting d6, Investigation d6, K (Baking) d6, Notice d10, Persuasion d6, Stealth d10, Streetwise d8, Taunt d6

All ponies begin with Size –1 and the No Hands Hindrance (being that they, in fact, have no hands), but can use their tails and mouths to generally manipulate things. They also begin with a Cutie Mark, which provides either a +2 bonus to relevant skills once per session, or a free Edge that ignores all requirements. In addition, Earth Ponies begin play with a d6 Vigor and one free Edge.

Pinkie Pie, Pinkie Pie, the Element of Laughter... this is an odd character indeed.

So, I suppose we'll start with what's new. The Intuition Edge is a custom Edge of mine that let's a character spend a Benny and make a roll (based on the trapping; Smarts, Spirit, or Notice typically) to get a yes-or-no answer to any question they might know the answer to (if the GM cannot or will not give an answer, he may hand the Benny back). Weird Magnet is a setting specific Hindrance that causes odd and inexplicable things to happen to your character; the minor version means that these things are simply inconvenient and off-putting whilst the major can lead to serious injury. Patterns in Chaos is also setting specific as a sort of Improved Intuition, allowing the character to inexplicably know things relevant to the situation rather than a simple yes or no question; the limit of this is solely determined by the GM. Combined with Danger Sense, Pinkie's Pinkie Sense is pretty handily translated into the system.

Pinkie is an eccentric Earth Pony that works at Sugarcube Corner. She's a good cook, but she also has an uncanny intuition and general sense of things, even if her mannerisms make her seem a little bit clueless. She is also very dependent on her friends: when sad, her wacky hair deflates and she begins to slip a little farther into the crazy end of things. In addition, she has an uncanny ability to access hammer space (Scavenger). Pinkie has an impressive memory, never forgetting a name or a birthday, but she can sometimes be a little bit too eager to help.

That's a pretty good look at Pinkie. It's mostly mechanics, but the writers are pretty inconsistent with Pinkie's character, so I did my best to recreate her. Leave comments, questions, and fourth wall jokes below!

Fluttershy—Caretaker

Obviously my return is going to be marred by yet another pony post. The Element of Kindness (and severe psychological disorders, apparently) comes out of hiding! This uses Edges and information from my My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic conversion.

Name: Fluttershy
Race: Pegasus (Abilities listed below)
Cutie Mark: Butterfly Trio
Experience: 50 (Veteran)
Agility d6; Smarts d8; Spirit d8; Strength d8; Vigor d6
Pace 6; Parry 2; Charisma 2; Toughness 4
Flight Pace 6; Climb 0
Hindrances: No Hands, Size –1, Pacifist (M), Phobia (m, Heights), Quirk (Doesn't like Intimidating), Yellow
Edges: Flight, Cloudwalker, Attractive, Berserk, Beast Bond, Call the Wild, Beast Master, Common Bond

Skills: Healing d6, Intimidation d10, K (Animals) d8, Notice d6, Performance d8, Stealth d6, Survival d4, Tracking d6

So all ponies begin with Size –1 and the No Hands Hindrance (being that they, in fact, have no hands), but can use their tails and mouths to generally manipulate things. They also begin with a Cutie Mark, which provides either a +2 bonus to relevant skills once per session, or a free Edge that ignores all requirements. In addition, pegasi also begin with the Flight ability (Pace 6" and Climb 0) and Cloudwalker, which allows pegasi to interact with cloud material as though it were solid.

Fluttershy, for some reason, has opted out of her Cutie Mark to instead gain access to Earth Pony Racial Edges.

She is the local expert on animals and their behaviour, and is incessantly, overly kind and timid, the latter of which goes beyond being shy and is borderline social anxiety and fear. Around her friends, or anything that isn't another pony, she is active and engaged in providing the best possible service and goes out her way to help them. Be careful, though: if you piss her off, then you'll have one seriously scary pony on your hands.

Fluttersy's affinity for animals is one of her trademark features, able to speak with them and asserting a dominance that is almost mystical. She is also surprisingly strong considering her general disposition, and somewhat cute, attracting the eye of a top photographer and model agent. She also possesses "The Stare," a piercing gaze that is quite terrifying to behold, though she will only really use it as a last resort.

There you are: friggin' Fluttershy. Leave your questions, comments, and horrible meanness down below!

Rarity — Dressmaker

Yet more ponies! The Element of Generosity, Rarity, has arrived! This uses Edges and information from my My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic conversion.

Name: Rarity
Race: Unicorn (Abilities listed below)
Cutie Mark: Diamond Trio

Experience: 60 (Heroic)
Agility d8; Smarts d8; Spirit d8; Strength d6; Vigor d6
Pace 6; Parry 5; Charisma 4; Toughness 4

Hindrances: No Hands, Size –1, Quirk (Perfectionist), Well, I'd Never!, Pacifist (m), Quirk (Generosity), Quirk (Expensive Taste)
Edges: Arcane Background (Natural Magic), Very Attractive, Artist (Sewing), Connections—Fashion, Common Bond, Extraction, Level Headed
Skills: Fighting d6, Investigation d6, Knowledge (Sewing) d10, Notice d6, Performance d8, Persuasion d6, Stealth d6, Spellcraft d6, Streetwise d6

Cantrips: Magic Trick, Locate Object, Levitation

So all ponies begin with Size –1 and the No Hands Hindrance (being that they, in fact, have no hands), but can use their tails and mouths to generally manipulate things. They also begin with a Cutie Mark, which provides either a +2 bonus to relevant skills once per session, or a free Edge that ignores all requirements. In addition, unicorns begin with the Arcane Background (Natural Magic) Edge, detailed below.

Arcane Background (Natural Magic)
Arcane Skill: Spellcraft (Smarts)
Starting Powers: Magic Trick + 1 other cantrip for each rank of Spellcraft you possess above d4 (you may gain a new cantrip each time your Spellcraft is increased in rank).

Unicorns are not limited to Power Points, as they use magic almost constantly. Instead, they simply choose the power they want to activate and make a Spellcraft roll, with a penalty equal to half the power's usual Power Point cost (rounded down).

Cantrips: Cantrips do not require a roll to activate; you simply use it, though cast options prompt Spellcraft rolls for additional effects. These cannot be gained through the New Power Edge.

Magic Trick
Range: Touch or 1”
Duration: 1 minute per Rank
Trappings: Faint glow matching your eye color.
Magic Trick can be cast once per turn as a free action. Magic Trick allows you to do one of the following at a time: levitate and manipulate small objects weighing less than five pounds within 1”, create harmless sensory effects (flashes of light, sounds, scents), clean/soil objects such as cloth or paint, or make a small object disappear for a few seconds (sleight of hand) within 1”. The Game Master has final say on the limits of this cantrip.
Cast Option (–1): The effect generated by Magic Trick is permanent until dispelled as a free action; this is usually only for minor effects (at the Game Master’s discretion).

The rest of the new magic system is outlined in the referenced document above.

Rarity has traded out her Cutie Mark to gain access to a marginally more powerful locate object cantrip, allowing her to sense gems that she has never even seen before.

She is the owner of the Carousel Boutique, the local dress shop of Ponyville. She has high-reaching dreams of becoming a famous fashionista and is making marvelous strides towards her goal, having been commissioned to work for a variety of famous ponies such as Sapphire Shores.

She does her best to perform at her absolute peak, shunning everything that can be even remotely considered "uncouth." She is calm, collected, intelligent, highly attractive and graceful, and very much willing to give whatever she can to help another in need. She is also very caring, and is one of Fluttershy's closest friends. She's also a very accomplished a capella singer.

This has been a peek at the most fabulous marshmellow pone. Leave questions, comments, and brony hate below!

Applejack — Farm Girl

Second pony incoming. Today is Applejack, the Element of Honesty. This uses Edges and information from my My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic conversion.

Name: Applejack
Race: Earth Pony (Abilities listed below)
Cutie Mark: Three Apples

Experience: 75 (Heroic)
Agility d8; Smarts d6; Spirit d8; Strength d10; Vigor d8
Pace 8; Parry 6; Charisma 0; Toughness 6

Hindrances: No Hands, Size –1, Code of Honor, Heroic, Stubborn
Edges: Cutie Mark, Brave, Fleet, Strong Willed, Brawler, Strong Back, Command, Unstoppable, Nerves of Steel, Common Bond, Combat Reflexes

Skills: Climbing d6, Fighting d8, Intimidation d6, Knowledge (Farming) d8, Notice d6, Repair d6, Stealth d6, Taunt d6, Throwing d6

Applejack is fast, brave, and strong. Lacking the magic of unicorns and flight of pegasi, she makes up for it in raw muscle and a down-to-earth (no pun intended) attitude. She is frustratingly stubborn, but has a very close connection to her friends. Strong Back has shown up on a couple other characters, but Unstoppable allows the pony to take a level of Fatigue to turn a success on a physical roll (Agility, Strenght, Vigor, or those linked) into a raise.

Working Sweet Apple Acres, her family farm, is her entire life, and her devotion to her family knows few bounds. If she had to choose between them or her friends, who knows what would happen?

Now you've met Ponyville's most reliable farmer. Leave comments and questions below!

Rainbow Dash — 20% Cooler

Yeah, yeah. Ponies incoming. I'll be posting all of the Mane 6 over time, so get used to it.

Our first will be Rainbow Dash, not because best pone but because probably most popular. This uses Edges and information from my My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic conversion.

Name: Rainbow Dash
Race: Pegasus (Abilities listed below)
Cutie Mark: Rainbow Lightning

Experience: 100 (Legendary)
Agility d10; Smarts d6; Spirit d8; Strength d8; Vigor d8
Pace 8; Parry 6; Charisma –1; Toughness 5

Flight Pace 12; Climb 2
Hindrances: No Hands, Size –1, Arrogant, Loyal, Overconfident, Habit (m, Prankster), Doubt (m)
Edges: Flight, Cloudwalker, Sonic Rainboom, Fleet-Footed, Dazzling Display, Weather Touch, Dodge, Combat Reflexes, Manipulate Weather, Arrow Flight, Killer Instinct, Brawler, Common Bond, Top Gun
Skills: Fighting d8, Intimidation d8, Notice d8, Stealth d6, Taunt d8, Throwing d6

Rainbow Dash in particular has traded out her Cutie Mark Edge to instead have access to Sonic Rainbooms at character creation. In addition, she took Fleet (with an additional Minor Hindrance for both her ground and air speed) and Dazzling Display (+1 to Test of Wills rolls and a crazy contrail when you fly).

Dash is one of the greatest fliers in Equestria, and one of the only known individuals in the world that can perform a Sonic Rainboom maneuver. She has a strong sense of will and a very close connection to her friends. She is also highly competative and hates losing.

As captain of the Ponyville Weather Team, she is a master at manipulating clouds, living in a personal cloud house just outside the town. Arrow Flight, Weather Touch, Manipulate Weather, and Top Gun are Edges that let Rainbow Dash pile on the speed and keep control over the skies, and Doubt necessitates that a Spirit roll must be made to Benny any Agility rolls. This was bought off fairly quickly.

So there's Equestria's weather captain in ten seconds flat. Leave comments and questions below.
